Economic Empowerment
Facing the daunting challenge of rising unemployment, estimated to have impacted 592,000 individuals in Ghana in 2024, the Sangu Delle Foundation is poised to make a pivotal difference. Our strategy is rooted in empowering economic growth through targeted financial support, beginning our mission in the Upper West Region with the vision to extend across Ghana. We are committed to harnessing the potential within critical sectors of Agriculture, Creative Arts, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Technology, and in Women, recognizing these areas as key drivers for economic innovation and job creation. Our initiative is dedicated to disbursing grants to promising entrepreneurs within these three vital sectors, each chosen for their potential to foster economic vitality and innovation:

Admiral Gyan Agriculture Grants: Understanding the foundational role of agriculture in Ghana’s economy and its particular significance in the Upper West Region, our grants aim to fuel agricultural entrepreneurship. These grants will support innovative farming techniques, agribusiness start-ups, and value-added agricultural enterprises, helping to modernize the sector, increase profitability, and create employment.
Kwame Karikari Creative Arts Grants: The Creative Arts sector in Ghana brims with talent and potential for cultural expression and economic growth. Our grants are designed to support artists, artisans, and cultural entrepreneurs, enabling them to transform their creative ideas into sustainable businesses that contribute to the nation’s cultural richness and economic diversity.
Fred McBangoluri Technology Grants: As digital transformation unfolds globally, our technology grants seek to empower Ghanaian entrepreneurs at the forefront of this change. These grants will support tech innovators and startups that are developing solutions to local and global challenges, fostering a tech ecosystem that is vibrant, inclusive, and economically impactful.
Mwinwell Delle Women Empowerment Program: The Mwinwell Delle Women Empowerment Program by the Sangu Delle Foundation empowers women in Nandom through financial capital, and training on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and loans. In partnership with other NGOs and banks, the program provides women with resources and tools including equipment to help them start and grow businesses.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET): The Foundation’s TVET program equips youth with practical skills and entrepreneurship education. Partnering with local banks, it offers financial literacy training and loans, along with tools, to help participants apply their skills and build sustainable careers.
Business Support Loans
One of the greatest barriers for entrepreneurs in Ghana is the prohibitive cost of loans, with interest rates ranging between 30% and 40%. To address this challenge, the Sangu Delle Foundation has partnered with Nandom Rural Bank to offer subsidized business support loans to youth and women entrepreneurs. Through this partnership, entrepreneurs will pay an affordable interest rate of only 10%, with the Foundation covering the remaining interest costs. This initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on small businesses and startups, allowing them to access critical capital for growth and sustainability. By removing financial barriers, the program enables entrepreneurs to focus on innovation, job creation, and long-term success.
Our grant-making strategy places a strong emphasis on empowering women and youth, recognizing their crucial roles in driving economic progress and innovation. By providing financial resources directly to these entrepreneurs, we aim to unlock the potential of these vital demographic groups, fostering an environment where their ideas and businesses can thrive.
The Sangu Delle Foundation is not merely providing funds; we are investing in the future of Ghana. Our grants are intended to catalyze a ripple effect of economic growth, innovation, and job creation across the sectors we support. While starting in the Upper West Region, our ambition is to inspire and enable entrepreneurship across the entire country, establishing a network of successful businesses that contribute to a robust and dynamic economy. Through this focused grant-making approach, we are dedicated to fostering an ecosystem where entrepreneurial spirit flourishes, innovation is nurtured, and sustainable economic development is achieved for Ghana and our people. The Sangu Delle Foundation is committed to being a catalyst for change, empowering entrepreneurs to drive Ghana’s economic future forward.
